So Kim and I had quite the weekend together…and now that I’ve finally upgraded to an iPhone (had to say goodbye to my beloved 5-year-old flip phone), I’ve kind of been snap happy lately. But it couldn’t have been a better weekend to take some pictures! Kim and I have a long list of L.A. adventures we’ve been putting together and we happily checked off a good chunk of it in the past couple of days.
Some highlights: vintage shopping on Melrose with our friend Whitney, where my favorite shop was SLOW (picked up a coat for $36!); Kim ordering a refreshment in the form of a laaarge coconut at our new vegan spot, Sage Bistro; brunch with friends at Canale in Atwater Village (see the little boy in the scarf, glasses and checkered shirt? He was our host! And I’d highly recommend the eggs en cocotte there); stopping in for a coffee & tea break at Figaro Cafe in Los Feliz, which I’ve walked by a million times and always wanted to go into; and visiting our awesome friend Mary and her furry roomie, Gemma, to share some to-die-for chocolate bread pudding from Alcove Cafe & Bakery. On Sunday, we rounded out the weekend by braving the crazy traffic to the Rose Bowl Flea Market to browse the best of vintage and antique goods, from century-old books to luggage from the ’30s. There is seriously a lot of stuff there, so if you’re looking to pick up some unique home furnishings or shop a ton of vintage pieces, it’s a must-visit.
Phew! It was a wonderful weekend and so great to spend it all with Kim, who is just the sweetest, funniest person you can spend 48+ hours with. Hope you guys had a great weekend as well! And if you have any suggestions for the two of us on more L.A. things we should add to our list, we’d love to hear! :)
