Pull-Apart Pizza Bread

16 Oct

Image

This may be the most delicious thing I’ve ever seen out of all the food blogs I read–and of course it’s from Kelly at Just A Taste. Looks all kinds of ooey gooey amazingness. The recipe does require a good amount of prep time, but can you just imagine pulling apart a soft, cheesy piece of this straight from the oven? Oh, my goodness. You can customize it with any of your favorite pizza toppings, too.

I’m bookmarking this for a weekend cooking adventure.

Roasted Strawberry w/ Brie & Chocolate Grilled Cheese

How good does this look to make for the weekend??

P.S. Who’s braving the crowds to watch The Dark Knight Rises? I totally am. : ) Have a great one, guys! xx

Ice-Cream Sandwiches

5 Jun

My wonderfully talented co-worker, Chris, made the most amazing ice-cream cookie sandwiches and brought them to work today…needless to say, I pretty much died of happiness. They are not your store-bought variety, which I’ve never liked because of how sticky and doughy some of them can be. These are light, crispy cookies, with spoonfuls of rich Ben & Jerry’s Coffee Heath Bar Crunch ice-cream sandwiched between. This is the exact recipe she used; it can be a bit of a process, but you will be amazed at how delicious they turn out. And, of course, you can fill it with your favorite ice-cream flavors and roll it in sprinkles, nuts, chocolate chips, etc. Great for parties and summer BBQs!

Spaghetti w/ Fried Eggs

10 May

Image

When I’m craving some comfort food or feeling lazy, this recipe from The New York Times is my go-to choice: Spaghetti with Fried Eggs. It’s ridiculously simple and sort of like a delicious, poor man’s Carbonara…just cook the pasta, fry up some eggs, and toss together with parmesan cheese and garlic for a rich, creamy dish. The only trick you have to master in this recipe is to not start cooking your eggs until your pasta is done–they fry up so quickly and you’ll want them just gently cooked so they’ll easily turn into a nice sauce. When I’m feeling fancy, I’ll also add fresh parsley and black pepper. It’s the perfect dish to make at the end of a long week. :)

Have a great weekend, guys! xx

Cheesy Portobello Fries

25 Apr

Last night, I enjoyed a very decadent meal with my friend Mike at Bottega Louie, an amazing American-Italian restaurant in Downtown LA. We shared one of my favorite small plates, portobello fries, and they were delicious (as always). So what a treat to find out that Kelly has a recipe for Cheesy Portobello Fries up on her blog today! These look extra crunchy–gotta love panko–and she also has a special spicy ketchup to go with them. Yum!

Baked Avocado Fries

12 Apr

Oh my goodness, these baked avocado fries look amazing! I have an obsession with avocados…I go through at least 2-3 each week for lunch on my sandwiches and salads (which I mostly eat just so I can top them with avocado), and if a menu item has avocado on it, I’ll pretty much always order it. This recipe seems really simple to pull off, too. Just slice some avocados, coat with Japanese bread crumbs, season, and bake. Kim and I actually just started a potluck style movie night with some of our girlfriends, and I think these will have to be the next thing I bring!

Have a great weekend, guys! xx

p.s. thanks to my friend Nicole for sharing this on her Pinterest. :)

Talkin’ Snacks

Mangiona With Caitlin Levin #2 Better than a doughnut via Justina Blakeney

There’s no way something that looks this good can be good for you. But I really think it might be. I’m loving this snack idea from Caitlin Levin on Justina Blakeney’s blog not only for its healthy yet drool-worthy looks but also because its lets me avoid biting into a whole apple, which I really hate. Weird, I know.

Also, kudos to my lovely friend Irvina for alerting me (via Pinterest) to Justina’s adorable blog and this other scrumptious recipe.
